Nenna is more of a persona than a character. She manifests in console MMORPGs where the player must create their character's appearance. Her name comes from the TVTropes page Translation: Yes (used to be under the “Real Life” subsection, but it seems to have disappeared at some point): “The Icelandic word ‘Nenna’ can only be translated as: ‘Having the patience to do something.’” It seemed appropriate to invoke for Dragon Quest IX, a game that effectively never ends.
